About Us

We decided to start a blog when we saw how much misinformation was spreading on the internet. Look at your Facebook and Twitter feed and you may even see some of your friends and family sharing false (and potentially harmful) articles about women’s health.

Mommy blogs promoting dubious products marketed to “enhance your internal vaginal strength” – whatever the hell that means.

DIY vloggers promoting homemade beauty products that are actually harmful in the long-run. (I mean seriously, using black markers as eyeliner???)

Obvious marketers and copywriters discrediting medically-safe procedures and practices in favor of their questionable products as the better solution. (Who needs a liver when you have detox tea?)

We wanted to create a website where women can find reliable and medically accurate sources for their health and beauty needs. At Women’s Health Blog, we want to provide women with peace of mind knowing they’re reading from a reliable source.

OUR TEAM

Jenna Fitzroy

Jenna graduated with a degree in psychology and is currently a graduate student taking up her master’s degree. On weekdays, she is a part-time researcher and teaching assistant for a professor in the women’s studies department. On the weekends, she is a freelance writer and is the editor of Women’s Health Blog.

Skilled in researching, fact-checking, and proofreading, Jenna ensures that all the articles published here are up to her academic-level standards and will benefit her readers’ health and wellness

Luisa Ugalde

Luisa is a beauty vlogger advocating for cruelty-free cosmetics. Other than product testing on animals, she is against using fake makeup and beauty products. She brings this advocacy of hers to her job as a freelance makeup artist, where she does makeup for men and women for events, photoshoots, and independent films.

Having seen women mar their faces with fake makeup and questionable skin care products, she wants to promote the healthier side of beauty.

Nicole Sweeting

Nicole has six years of experience specializing as an OB/GYN. When she’s not providing her services on the upper-east side of Manhattan, she volunteers in medical missions to the less fortunate who have less access to basic medical care. She provides women with free consultation, services, and women’s health education.

She hopes that, in her efforts volunteering and writing for Women’s Health Blog, she can help disprove the misconceptions circulating the internet about women’s reproductive health and other health concerns that apply to both sexes.
