What are the causes of menstrual disorders?

Causes of menstrual disorders are broadly divided into three categories:
- Diet:- Excessive consumption of (1) hot food and drinks; (2) salt; (3) sour, bitter and pungent foods; (4) hot meals; and (5) intoxicating drinks such as alcohol can cause menstrual irregularities.
- Lifestyle:- Taking medicines or other habitual substances through the nose during menstruation, supÂpression of natural urges, sleeping during the day, inadequate sleep during the night and excess of sexual intercourse are some of the causes of menstrual irrÂegularities.
- Environment:- Exposure to heat and fire and Smoking can also cause menstrual irregularities.
