Decrease in functions of the ovaries can have direct and indirect effect on your health. Direct effects include:
- Thinning of the lining of the vulva and vagina;
- Urinary problems; and
- Changes in the skin, hair and breasts.
Indirect effects of estrogen deficiency include:
- Hot flushes;
- Loss of bone density; and

Some stUdies have indicated that in addition to the above direct and indirect effects of estrogen deficiency, it may also lead to (a) psychological problems, (b) heart diseases, and (c) changes in the fat metabolism.
